Burlington, Ont.—July 3, 2018—After the success of Burlington Culture Days in 2017, local creative organizations, venues, professionals and businesses are again invited to host events during the ninth annual Culture Days weekend from Sept. 28 to 30, 2018.
This national initiative aims to raise awareness, provide accessibility and encourage participation and engagement in the arts and cultural life of Burlington. The City of Burlington is calling for artists and arts and cultural organizations of all types to participate in Culture Days and offer free, interactive events and activities during these days. Community Mindfulness Burlington is inviting residents to a series of free drop-in mindfulness sessions in Burlington parks in July and August.
The mindfulness sessions are led by volunteers from Community Mindfulness Burlington and partly supported by the City of Burlington’s Neighbourhood Community Matching Fund.
Mindfulness is a type of meditation where a positive mental state is achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations.
Participants are advised to wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat or meditation cushion. Mindfulness activities are inclusive and secular. All welcome to participate.

HAMILTON (June 21, 2018) – The Centre for Climate Change Management (CCCM) at Mohawk College is hosting an important public forum on June 27 – the culmination of an intense stakeholder engagement process that began in March of this year.
The CCCM has a mission to accelerate advancements to a low-carbon economy to ensure a thriving, resilient region for its citizens for generations to come.
The public is being invited to review the results of the stakeholder discussions and recommendations for the formation of the Bay Area Climate Change Office and action priorities going forward. June 27th is a key opportunity for citizens to provide their input.
